From Numbers to Clarity: Garen’s Journey

I’m Garen Youngstrom, the founder and owner of Prime Bookkeeping LLC. My path to bookkeeping has been shaped by a mix of hands-on work, formal training, and a genuine love for bringing order to financial systems. I earned my bachelor’s degree from BYU–Idaho and spent several years as a log home builder, completing multiple custom homes from the ground up. Every winter, I also build the Ice Palace—large, intricate structures made entirely of ice—which has taught me patience, precision, and a strong attention to detail.

I discovered my passion for bookkeeping while working at Lon Ricks Electric, where I built clean, organized financial systems that made day-to-day operations easier for the business. That experience showed me how much I enjoy creating clarity out of financial chaos. Later, I continued bookkeeping for another company, deepening my skills and developing a true appreciation for what accurate, reliable records can do for a business. Over the past 10 years, bookkeeping has become work that I find deeply fulfilling.

Today, I run Prime Bookkeeping LLC on my own and am proud to help small business owners gain confidence in their finances. I look forward to growing the company and building a team in the future. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, traveling with my family, and playing games together.
